Chase Sapphire Preferred
Looking for your first travel rewards credit card? Chase Sapphire Preferred is our top pick. The welcome bonus is worth at least $750 in travel, the annual fee is reasonable, and the rewards (Chase Ultimate Rewards) are easy to earn and redeem.
Current offer: Earn 60,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after spending $4,000 in the first 3 months.
The annual fee is $95, but the welcome offer alone is worth a lot more than that. Also, you’ll receive a year of DashPass (normally $9.99 per month) for free.
You can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards to 11 different airline frequent flyer programs or 3 different hotel loyalty programs. You can also redeem the points through the Chase Ultimate Rewards redemption portal. Each point can be redeemed for 1.25 cents. That makes the welcome bonus of 60,000 Ultimate Rewards points worth $750!
Chase Marriott co-branded cards
Marriott cardmembers will earn 6 points per dollar on grocery purchases on up to $5,000. This is valid from May 1-July 31, 2020.
DoorDash and Tock
All Chase Sapphire and Freedom cardmembers earn 5 points/5% cash back on up to $500 in combined purchases from DoorDash or Tock through May 31, 2020.

Hyatt
Spend your way to Hyatt Elite Status
Between April 15th through June 30th, 2020, for every $5,000 spend on their card, World of Hyatt credit cardmembers can earn three tier-qualifying night credits toward the next tier status. This includes the two qualifying night credit Cardmembers already earn for every $5k, plus one bonus night credit.
There is no limit to the number of tier-qualifying night credits you can earn this way. Nights earned count toward Milestone Rewards – like Confirmable Suite Upgrades, Club Lounge Access Awards, FIND experiences, access to My Hyatt Concierge, Guest of Honor, Free Night Awards for future Hyatt stays and more.
New World of Hyatt cardmember offer
Anyone who opens the World of Hyatt credit card between April 15, 2020 and June 30, 2020 will receive 10 night credits. 5 tier qualifying night credits is standard with this card, so this is 5 additional nights.
World of Hyatt credit card from Chase
World of Hyatt is my top hotel loyalty program, so naturally the co-branded credit card is going to be my top hotel credit card. The welcome bonus of up to 50,000 World of Hyatt points is nice, but the main benefit that makes this card worth keeping year after year is the annual free night certificate. This is good for any Hyatt property that is category 1-4. The annual fee is $95, but there are so many properties for which you can use the annual free night with rates significantly higher than $95.
UPDATE: This offer has changed. Click here for a current list of offers

Current offer: Up to 50,000 Hyatt points. 25,000 if you spend $3,000 in the first 3 months, then another 25,000 if you spend an additional $3,000 in the first 6 months (a total of $6,000 in the first 6 months).
The annual fee is $95, but again, the initial bonus offer and then the annual certificate for each anniversary make this card worth opening and keeping.
This card also comes with Discoverist status, which is mid-tier at best, but Discoverist status will get you free premium internet and late checkout. in our experience, Hyatt is also generous with room upgrades, even for lower status!
The earn rate is 4 World of Hyatt points per dollar at Hyatt, 2 points per dollar at restaurants, 2 points per dollar on airfare purchased directly from airlines, 2 points per dollar on local transit, and 2 points per dollar on gym memberships.
Minimum spending requirement deadlines extended on Chase cards
Accounts opened between January 1st, 2020 to March 31st, 2020 are eligible.
Chase is extending the time cardmembers have to meet the min spend requirements to earn their welcome bonus by 3 months. That means eligible cardmembers will have a total of 6 months from when the account was opened.
Account opening date is the date approved, not the date you applied. This is important if you had a pending application that was later approved.
This is automatic so there is no need to call.
For multi-tier offers, there will soon be an extension for the second tier offer.
- Tier 1 is already automatically extended by 3 months (total of 6 months from account open to earn) for accounts opened as stated above
- Tier 2 requirements will be extended by 3 months (total of 9 months from account open to earn) for accounts opened between Oct 1st, 2019 to Mar 31st, 2020
